How it works
Botox blocks nerve signals to the muscles, preventing contraction and resulting in smoother skin. Onset is typically visible within two weeks, and effects last three to six months before a maintenance session is needed.
Where it is used cosmetically
Botox is best known for softening facial wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing the muscles responsible for them. It is commonly placed in:
- Forehead lines — horizontal lines across the forehead.
- Glabellar lines — vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.
- Crow's feet — wrinkles around the outer corners of the eyes.
- Bunny lines — lines on the bridge of the nose when smiling.
- Eyebrow lift — to slightly raise the brow for a more open look.
- Lip lines — fine vertical lines around the mouth.
- Gummy smile — to reduce excessive gum exposure when smiling.
- Chin dimpling — to smooth orange-peel texture on the chin.
- Jawline — to slim the masseter or relieve teeth grinding.
- Neck bands — to reduce visible platysmal cords.
The appointment
- Duration — quick, usually 10–15 minutes.
- Pain — minimal; often likened to a slight pinprick.
- Downtime — little to none, though bruising or swelling may occur.
You can usually return to daily activities immediately. Avoid rubbing the treated area for a few hours, and avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medication beforehand to reduce bruising.
Side effects
Common. Mild pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Some experience temporary headaches or flu-like symptoms. Rarely, the toxin can spread beyond the injection site.
Rare. Allergic reactions, vision issues, muscle weakness.
Who it is not for
Botox is not suitable during pregnancy or nursing, or for individuals with certain neurological conditions. Discuss your medical history and goals with the doctor at consultation.

Choosing where to go
Avoid unregulated providers. Spas or salons without medical supervision should be avoided. Ensure your injector is licensed and experienced, and that the clinic has a track record of safety.
Be wary of deals that seem too good. Extremely low prices can indicate compromised product quality or service.
Products we use
We use only Thai FDA–registered products. The specific product and plan for your face are discussed with the doctor in consultation.
