What they do

How they differ from moisturiser

Moisturisers hydrate the surface. Skinboosters deliver moisture deep within the skin layers, so hydration lasts considerably longer. Continuous hydration and collagen stimulation also lead to more even tone and texture over time.

How often

Treatment is typically recommended every three to six months to maintain hydration, texture and elasticity. The ideal frequency varies with your skin, your age and the product used.

Side effects

Side effects are generally mild and temporary, usually subsiding within days: redness, mild swelling, small bruises at needle sites, tenderness or brief itching. Severe reactions are rare. If you experience prolonged swelling, severe pain or signs of infection, contact us promptly.

Before your appointment
  • Have a thorough consultation about your skin type, concerns and goals.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medication or supplements — aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil — for about a week, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • Tell us about any allergies or previous reactions to injectables.
  • Ensure the treatment area is free from infection such as active acne or cold sores.
  • Stay well hydrated and eat well in the lead-up.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and after.
  • Protect your skin from sun and avoid tanning beds.
  • Avoid chemical peels or laser resurfacing close to your appointment.
